Walbro Automotive Fuel Pumps Are Now TI Automotive
We decided to write this post to reassure customers who’ve ordered a Walbro fuel pump but are receiving fuel pumps with the ‘TI Automotive’ logo stamped on them. Please don’t worry as they’re indeed 100% genuine; read on.
If you’re in the market for a high-performance fuel pump, you may be surprised to notice that the world-renowned brand, Walbro, has changed its name for aftermarket fuel pump products to TI Automotive. Why? Well it’s not actually something new, TI Automotive Group purchased the brand Walbro way back in 1999 and decided to carry on promoting fuel pump products with the ‘Walbro’ brand name. That has now changed and TI Automotive is gradually phasing out the Walbro name from their popular after-market high-pressure fuel pumps. It’s important to note that the Walbro brand will still carry on making other products, such as fuel tanks, throttle bodies and ignition systems though.
Customer’s shouldn’t worry though, the only thing changing is the logo etched on the pumps and the box. They’re manufactured in the same factory by the same workforce. Some fuel pumps e.g the popular ‘255LPH GSS342’ is being upgraded with a higher pressure relief valve (grey in colour) and being given the new part number of GSS342G3. So if you purchased a GSS342 and received a GSS342G3, don’t fret! Read the below statement from TI Automotive for more information:
TI Automotive, Auburn Hills, Michigan. (Nov. 16, 2015) –
“TI Automotive, a leading global supplier of fluid storage, carrying and delivery technology, offers high pressure GSS fuel pumps that are ideal for a wide-range of high-efficiency, high-performance vehicles. As a universal in-tank pump, GSS fuel pumps from TI Automotive feature high flow rates (up to 255lph) and high pressure performance (up to 112psi).
TI Automotive GSS fuel pumps are available in multiple sizes for gasoline applications. Designed for reliable, efficient and quiet performance, GSS pumps include a comprehensive line of gear pumps.
The TI Automotive F20000311 is equivalent to the GSS340 with a higher pressure relief. It comes with a 22mm center inlet. The TIA Automotive F20000312 is equivalent to the GSS341 with a higher pressure relief. It features an 11mm inlet, 180 degrees from the outlet. The TI Automotive F20000313 (GSS342G3) is equivalent to the GSS342 with a higher pressure relief with an 11 mm inlet in line with the outlet.
TI Automotive’s high pressure GSS pumps provide higher pressure relief for vehicles that require a higher fuel system pressure than that which can be supported by GSS340, GSS341 or GS3442. These pumps work well in forced induction (turbocharged, supercharged) applications.
TI Automotive manufactures a complete line of fuel pumps, accessories, pump kits and fuel modules for the high performance aftermarket.”
